Occupational Therapy Now Available at SVMC Deerfield Valley Campus


Vermont Business Magazine Occupational therapy patients in Wilmington, VT, and its surrounding cities, can now book appointments closer to home. Occupational therapist Gabrielle Loomis, MSOT, OTR/L, began seeing patients at the Deerfield Valley Campus of SVMC, a primary care office providing family practice in Wilmington, VT.

Occupational therapists use a wide range of creative and individualized plans to help patients of all ages develop, recover, improve, and maintain skills necessary for daily life and work.

Loomis offers many of the same services at Deerfield Valley Campus that she offers at SVMC Outpatient Rehabilitation in Bennington, including assessment and treatment of upper extremity injuries and cognitive deficits and training in compensatory strategy for daily life. Available treatments include upper extremity range of motion, strengthening, modalities, therapeutic activities, and adaptive equipment training.

Loomis graduated from Russell Sage College with a Bachelor’s degree in “Creative Arts in Therapy” with a concentration in Dance/Movement Therapy. Immediately after her undergraduate studies, she stayed at Sage Colleges to complete a master’s degree in occupational therapy. As a member of the SVMC rehabilitation team, she sees a variety of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings and has developed a greater interest in orthopedic and cognitive conditions. Additionally, Loomis is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Dagmar Tobits, MD, provides primary care at SVMC Deerfield Valley Campus.
