On Wednesday, April 19, at Butler Community College, PrairieStar Health Center was recognized by the Kansas Department of Commerce as the 2021 South Central Region Honoree for Excellence as a Purpose-Based Health Care Organization. non-profit. Each year, the Kansas Department of Commerce recognizes companies for their contributions to Kansas communities through job creation, community involvement and overall economic impact.

Throughout 2020 and 2021, PrairieStar has remained active in the Hutchinson community by sponsoring events at the Fox Theater, Family Children’s Theater, Boys and Girls Clubs of Hutchinson, local high school athletics, dental exams, to youth programs, providing assistance with local meals on wheels by staff. deliver meals to local recipients, and more.

Additionally, PrairieStar has partnered with Collins Bus to create a mobile medical van. This tool has been vital in bringing medical awareness to Reno County communities, as well as providing local businesses with personalized health programs.

PrairieStar was nominated for the award by the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce.

“Since 2015, PrairieStar has experienced significant growth thanks to the Hutchinson community,” Anderson said. “We are proud to have grown from 24,000 patient visits to over 54,000 in 2021. The addition of over 70 new staff, 30 in the past two years alone, as the move to 30th and K- 61 would not have been possible without the support of Hutchinson. ”
